Seems like it would be an efficient design choice. Now we just need to quarter-scale it, clone it, rotate it 90 degrees and attach one to each wheel...

There are others too. Here’s Zvezda M503 which is ~140 litre 42 cylinder diesel used for various purposes (mostly marine).

Those Nordberg engines are quite unique among radial engines though. As far as I know they are the only radial engine with even number of cylinders that had commercial success (nearly the same applies them being two stroke radial engines). Their crankshaft and connecting rods are connected with very strange mechanism. Nordberg did make some with the usual odd number of cylinders as their connecting rod arrangement didn’t limit this either.
